Bookmarklet examples

Bookmarklets are simple one-line JavaScripts, implemented as ordinary bookmarks. You can use bookmarklets to add macros and additional features to your browser. Read more about bookmarklets on my wiki page http://xdeb.org/wiki/BookMarklets.

The bookmarklet examples on this page are mainly tested on Safari for Mac OS X and Firefox for Mac OS X. My guess is that most of them work with most modern browsers and most plattforms.

To install drag the links below to your bookmark toolbar or right click on them and choose the command to add a bookmark.

MailTo will create a new e-mail in your default e-mail client with a nicely formatted subject and bode containing a link to the web site of the front window.

Add a link to the web site of the front window to del.icio.us via a nice ajax enabled popup windows. The popup will close after submitting the link. Remember to replace [your_user_name_on_del.icio.us] with you user name

Search MacUpDate and Versiontracker for Mac OS software with these two bookmarklets.

Validate the HTML and CSS code from the web site of the front window.

Search for functions on php.net.
